If you don’t fancy sloe gin, there’s just one good reason – you haven’t tried it yet. Forget the tonic – just pour it over ice. Or be adventurous and gulp it down in a glass of bubbly. It’s also pretty nice with Ginger Beer!
The pound might be a bit unpredictable, but here in the neck of the woods, there’s a whole new currency: sloe berries. Every year, around early October, Warner’s invites everyone and their dog to trade their sloes at their farm. What do they get in return? World-class sloe gin, of course. After checking out their collection, they mix them in with their own harvest and let them soak for a month. A seriously slow process. (Sorry.)
Warner’s Gin is a British gin brand that was founded by Tom and Tina Warner in 2012. Located in Northamptonshire, England, Warner’s Gin is known for its small-batch, farm-to-bottle approach to gin production. The brand takes pride in using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients to create their handcrafted gins.
One of the key aspects that sets Warner’s Gin apart is its focus on botanicals grown on their own farm. The Warners are passionate about farming and have created their own botanical gardens, where they grow a variety of plants and herbs to use in their gin recipes. This farm-grown approach allows them to have complete control over the quality and provenance of the ingredients.
Warner’s Gin offers a range of gin expressions, each with its own unique flavor profile. Their flagship gin, Warner’s London Dry Gin, is made using a combination of 11 botanicals, including juniper, elderflower, and coriander. It has a well-balanced taste with floral and citrus notes.
In addition to their London Dry Gin, Warner’s produces a selection of flavored gins that showcase different botanical infusions. These include offerings such as Warner’s Rhubarb Gin, Warner’s Elderflower Gin, and Warner’s Lemon Balm Gin. These flavored gins retain the brand’s commitment to using natural, farm-grown ingredients to create vibrant and distinctive flavors.
Warner’s Gin has gained recognition for its quality and craftsmanship, receiving numerous awards in the gin industry. The brand has a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint and support local biodiversity.
It’s worth noting that since my knowledge cutoff is September 2021, there may have been new releases or changes to Warner’s Gin since then. However, the core principles of the brand, including their farm-to-bottle approach and dedication to quality, are likely to remain consistent.
